- Step 1: Soak in a hot tub or shower until skin is relaxed and pores are open. Wash with luxurious soap or gel.
- Step 2: Steam your face. Drape a warm washcloth over the top half of your face, keeping airways clear. Re wet every so often to keep a high temperature. Heat will open your skin's pores, allowing toxins and buildup to be removed. Repeat with bottom half of face.
- Step 3: Apply a facial mask made from clay or gel. Let it dry while you do steps 5 and 6. Rinse with warm water and follow immediately with moisturizer.
- Step 4: Apply a leave in hair treatment, also to be left on during steps 5 and 6.
- Step 5: Scrub entire body with a gentle exfoliant. Natural products will have ingredients like pumice or sea salt. Chemical based products may advertise patented treatments or micro-beads. You may opt for a loofah or brush instead, in which case we recommend dry brushing before soaking. Use a face-only exfoliant on delicate neck and face areas.
- Step 6: Do a mini manicure by filing nails and removing cuticles. Start by removing old polish and applying a cuticle cream designed to soften tough skin. Relax in the tub while you wait for products to work. Follow this by a mini pedicure. Be sure to scrub those feet!
- Step 7: Rinse facial mask and hair treatment out. Don't go over the time stated on the product label, but let the product sit long enough to do its job.
- Step 8: Rinse thoroughly and get out of tub.
- Step 9: Apply lotion while your skin is still damp. Lightly towel off, then liberally apply lotion, body oil, cream or body butter. Doing this while your skin is still wet will ensure it is soaked into the skin, not sloughed off later.
- Step 10: Relax. Give yourself time to revel in your spa experience. Follow your spa day with a nap or good book.
