In our experience, you can never go wrong these bath and body gifts:

Candles

Candles are a classic gift, and are a great place to start. Candles can range from tea light sets, which are small and inexpensive, to elaborate hand crafted candles. Send individual candle as a small present, or sets of the same scent for a bigger gift. Personalize your gift with a unique candle holder and viola!

Perfume or Cologne

Fragrances are a popular Christmas gifts. When shopping for these, remember that people have different scent preferences. What smells good to one may not smell go great to another. We recommend that you stay away from intense scents, or scents that are known to conflict with allergies. If you don’t know the recipient that well, but still want to get them a scent, try going with something traditional and classic like vanilla or musk. Most designer fragrances provide a detailed description of the scent, but if you must smell it before purchasing, contact the manufacturer for a sample.

Bath and Body Gift Basket

Mix and match cosmetics, skin care products, perfumes, lotions, soaps, loofahs and more! Pick each piece individually, or purchase a pre-made basket. What’s better than a single bath and body gift? Why, a basket of several, of course!

Benefits of Bath & Body Gifts

Body and Bath holiday presents come in every size, shape, scent and color for that special someone in your life. With many ideas for both men and women, body and bath holiday gift presents truly pamper your friends and loved ones.

Consider, for example, an oversized plush robe with matching soft slippers for your daughter who’s away at college. Other ideas could include chamomile bath salts for your Mother, and soothing shaving cream for your Dad.

There are many benefits to giving holiday bath and body gifts this year. Here are just a few:

  • Your gift will be viewed as a form of pampering.
  • Your gift will be something they wouldn’t typically purchase themselves.
  • Your gift will be enthusiastically used.

Bath Items as Gifts

Typically given to women as gifts, bath items go a long way in showing a friend or loved one how much you care.

Do’s:

  • Consider the gift as an experience.
  • Combine items.
Don’ts:

  • Purchase overly fragranced items.
  • Give single items.

The Gift as an Experience

When giving such items as gifts it’s important to remember the other items necessary to make a complete experience. For someone who has a stressful job, who does not take the time to pamper themselves, consider not only getting soothing bath salts, but perhaps also a lightly scented lotion, with a complimentary scented candle, complete with a manicure & pedicure set.

Matching plush bath towels are also a nice idea for holiday gift giving. Even better, a monogrammed towel set is a perfect gift for the man in your life.

Along with the notion of taking care of oneself, one might also consider skin care products. This would make an ideal gift for either the male/female teenagers in the family. As well, giving cosmetics, along with various brush sets, and/or hair accessories (hair straightener and/or curling iron with blow dryer) is a very welcomed holiday gift as most of us forget the little every day things.

Beauty Services

A facial, scrub or hot stone treatment is always a joy. Your loved one will feel like royalty during their spa treatment, thanks to you. Even men enjoy a good steam and shave, or a deep tissue massage. Gift certificates for beauty services make great last minute gift ideas too, because they can often be purchased online instantly and delivered in the form of a printable card.

Skin Care

Skin the largest organ in the human body. It’s a trait we all share. Good skin care routines help us look and feel younger. Anyone interested in beauty will enjoy a specialty face or body lotion. Try giving an exotic serum or facial mask.

How to have an at-home spa day:

It’s easy to recreate the spa experience at home. Share with a friend, or do it alone. Here are step by step instructions, including what general supplies you will need. All of these items can be found in our Bath and Body section.

Try grouping several of these items together in a gift bag or basket. A home spa experience is a wonderful Christmas gift for anyone.

  • Step 1: Soak in a hot tub or shower until skin is relaxed and pores are open. Wash with luxurious soap or gel.
  • Step 2: Steam your face. Drape a warm washcloth over the top half of your face, keeping airways clear. Re wet every so often to keep a high temperature. Heat will open your skin’s pores, allowing toxins and buildup to be removed. Repeat with bottom half of face.
  • Step 3: Apply a facial mask made from clay or gel. Let it dry while you do steps 5 and 6. Rinse with warm water and follow immediately with moisturizer.
  • Step 4: Apply a leave in hair treatment, also to be left on during steps 5 and 6.
  • Step 5: Scrub entire body with a gentle exfoliant. Natural products will have ingredients like pumice or sea salt. Chemical based products may advertise patented treatments or micro-beads. You may opt for a loofah or brush instead, in which case we recommend dry brushing before soaking. Use a face-only exfoliant on delicate neck and face areas.
  • Step 6: Do a mini manicure by filing nails and removing cuticles. Start by removing old polish and applying a cuticle cream designed to soften tough skin. Relax in the tub while you wait for products to work. Follow this by a mini pedicure. Be sure to scrub those feet!
  • Step 7: Rinse facial mask and hair treatment out. Don’t go over the time stated on the product label, but let the product sit long enough to do its job.
  • Step 8: Rinse thoroughly and get out of tub.
  • Step 9: Apply lotion while your skin is still damp. Lightly towel off, then liberally apply lotion, body oil, cream or body butter. Doing this while your skin is still wet will ensure it is soaked into the skin, not sloughed off later.
  • Step 10: Relax. Give yourself time to revel in your spa experience. Follow your spa day with a nap or good book.
