This holiday season, finding one’s favorite artist is easy. While original paintings can be costly, finding a less expensive alternative online couldn’t be simpler. With the advancement of technology one can get their favorite painting on just about any surface imaginable. There are a number of different websites that will take an image and duplicate it on coffee mugs, mouse pads, key chains and even posters. Relatively inexpensive, posters are easily shipped these days as well; freeing up time and money for memorable framing.

Here are a few handy tips on purchasing paintings and posters this holiday season:

Do’s: Browse many locations for the best price. Consider where the art will be displayed. Keep in mind the colors of the art.

Don’ts: Avoid the “bigger is better” notion. Think an ornate frame is best. Give a rolled up painting or poster.

There are so many different artists to browse through that finding something that not only fits a person’s personality, but also the coloration of their room, office and/or home can be a fun way to spend an afternoon.

For example, if the person you’re buying for has a love of flowers, and enjoys colors, then a nice Picasso print would fit their style. If, on the other hand, the person you’re buying for lives in a small apartment, then a nice Monet print would be a perfect gift.
